A Tattoo Artists Take on Artificial Intelligence Part 2 - Pros

Even though my opinions on this topic are strong and negative, i have managed to find some positives within this topic. In my personal opinion robotics and medical imaging are examples of productive and positive AI usage where generative AI has more negative implications. The use of robotics can be seen as negative when talking about job loss due to automation (think self-checkouts at the grocery store) but I think that there are still ways it can be used ethically. A perfect example is unfortunately the “they did surgery on a grape” meme. Shown in the video, you can see the precision of the robot and its capability to conduct surgery safely and efficiently without the pressure of human error. Robotic surgeries are not done without human supervision and that’s why I think this is a very productive use case. Medical imaging also has the potential to change the medical world in a great way. Recent studies have shown that an AI algorithm was able to detect extremely early signs of breast cancer that humans could not detect before. Therefore enabling oncologists to diagnose this extremely deadly disease early enough to start treatment and possibly save lives.
